INAUGURAL WINNERS OF MR AND MISS ASAKHANE

MO Shaba Mpofu and Dorica Sihle Ndlovu scoop Mr and Miss Asakhane Live, an inaugural and  unorthodox modeling contest brought to you by the ever creative and diverse Asakhane Live community. 

The competition was open to all Asakhane Live group members on their Facebook groups which currently has over 42 000 members. 

The  winnings were donated by the members and well wishers who were contributing from a minimum of R10. The winners shared 75% of the money between the two of them and 25 % went towards Asakhane Live charity projects. 

The competition was different, inclusive and diverse. Zimbabweans from all walks of life, from every corner of the globe participated in this great initiative. 

The rules of the competition were very simple, one had to upload any of their two images and the post with most reactions will scoop the  top prize. 

"The aim of this event was simple to have fun, grow and build each other in a unique way" wrote Joyful Ncube, one of the Administrators of Asakhane Live.

Dorica Sihle Ndlovu 

Dorica Sihle Ndlovu uploaded her two images donning a house helper outfit and caption the picture "Lathi o housegirl sicela amavote noma singelawo amaqwa" The post got most reactions which led her scooping the top price.

Mo Shaba Mpofu pledged all his winnings to a charity chosen by the Sensational Pan African Poet Obert Dube, he had uploaded two images in formal wear and captioned "Sibiziwe sasebela sathi: Singaphaaa!
Ngqwaaa Leziqholo zezhwane. From Zhwane to the World. All the winnings to be donated to tuition of disadvantaged children to be identified by the peoples poet Obert Dube The African Poet . We can do this bakithi .Yours truly incoming Mr Asakhane . MC Moe Shaba , Dj Mthwakazi , The Big Nigerian . Let my portraits change someone’s life."

Asakhane Live was founded by Thamu okaGwayi Moyo as a way of staying connected to friends and family especially for the diaspora community, to keep in touch with their culture and build communities. The group has become a larger than life initiative that has helped many people vulnerable communities and tackled many social issues.

Dorica Sihle Ndlovu walked away with a Photoshoot, Heritage themed cake from Ikhekhelethu for her next birthday, Lunch Buffet at Raddison Blu Sandton or Lunch Buffet at a Game Lodge out in Pretoria courtesy of Lwazi Mthunzi, A taylor made skirt and a doek from Sphiwe Ncube, and cash prize to the tune of R4143,75.
